Developer CD Projekt Red has released Witcher 3: Blood and Wine’s launch trailer. Expect beautiful country side, fair dames, and vampires.
The second expansion to The Witcher 3 takes players to the distant land of Toussaint. The region is reminiscent of medieval France with its bright architecture and courtly presence. The land is in stark contrast to Velen – where the majority of the main game takes place.
CDPR has remained close-lipped about the story behind Blood and Wine. Their official statement about the expansion says that Toussaint will be “a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.”
The launch trailer is titled “Final Quest.” The name brings Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and its finality to mind. CDPR has already said that Witcher 3 will be Geralt’s last adventure. Blood and Wine could be the last time players get to join Geralt on a new quest.
In the trailer below, players can see what kinds of monsters and women await the monster slayer. Witcher 3’s final expansion launches May 31 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
